I have been using Amsoil in my engines for over 5 years, but have never tried their transmission fluid. Recently I purchased a used mini-van with over 100,000 miles on it and the first thing I noticed was the transmission was slipping. Not knowing if the previous owner ever changed the ATF (highly unlikely) I changed the filter and fluid using some off the shelf petroleum oil (big mistake). After less than 60 days the transmission started slipping again and the fluid color on the dipstick was starting to turn amber brown.
At this point I started pricing used transmissions at the junkyard thinking this was my only option. I called my Amsoil rep and he convinced me that the least expensive option was to switch out the fluid with Amsoil.
